Checkout procedures:

Library books:
Students must have a valid, current student ID card with their picture in order to check out materials. Students may check out up to three books on a single subject. Regular books are available for three weeks, or fifteen school days. School holidays and weekend days do not count. Some magazines can be checked out overnight, as well as some reference books. Please ask the library staff to check out back issues of magazines.

Fines:
Books and other materials kept longer than the ten school-day period will accrue a fine of 20 cents per school day, up to $10. Lost books will cost the replacement price. Fine notices will be issued monthly and distributed to all English teachers, who will notify the students responsible. Do not check out books for your friends! If you do, you will be held responsible for the book, not your friend.

Computers:
In order to use computers that have access to the Internet, students must have an Internet Agreement on file. The forms are in the registration packet. Parents and staff have the right to revoke Internet or computer priveledges. Students without the Internet Agreement may request to work on a computer station that does not have Internet access.

Students who misuse the computers will be asked to leave. A second violation may result in students losing all computer privileges in the library.

Printing and Copying:
Thanks to donations made by parents at registration, the Western Library is able to allow printing for free. We will continue this service as long as our donations support it.
