Reading The Reading curriculum includes critical thinking development, composition and grammar skills, literature analysis, and oral communication processes. Reading Courses: Reading Improvement Reading improvement focuses on decoding, vocabulary, and comprehension skills to promote reading fluency, competency, and enjoyment. Reading stragegies are taught and developed to enhance student achievement. The development of speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills is emphasized. Comprehensive Reading Comprehensive Reading focuses on increased reading fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and test-taking skills. Emphasis is placed upon critical, analytical, and expository reading. Instructional strategies support content area reading and foster independent life-long reading habits.
